Expanding Into Holiness
“When external structures fall apart, internal structure becomes essential for your integrity and well-being.” (Hiro Boga)
You deserve wild-caught shrimp
None of that fake farmed stuff for you
“You deserve it, and more,” she said.
I didn’t quite believe her.
I marvel at the spa appointment I made
For later this morning
I told very few people
As if they would somehow say
Who are you to cherish yourself
You are not crushing it,
This life of yours
And your biggest accomplishment thus far
Is keeping your sanity intact
This week, anyway
My daily devotional quietly asserted
I am holy
And that sacredness infuses the life
I am blessed to live
In all its imperfect glory
Whether I am crushing it or not
I am keeping my appointment
Despite the inner questions that surface
About the requisite level of deserving
I am not sure I possess
The nurturing I require
Is necessary
To embody
To further evolve into a healing force in the world
That’s more than deserving
When I see myself
I am seen
And I can then see others
When I care for myself
I am cared for
And I can then care for others
None of that fake farmed stuff for you, chica
For the place you are standing
Is indeed holy
So inhabit it without reservation
And await your Instructions
